UPDATE 03.06.20

Dear Valued Patient,

We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health.

You may have heard that dental practices can open to routine care from Monday 8 June.

Our practice will be opening towards the end of June but we just wanted to be clear that this may not be business as usual. The treatments you are offered may be different to those you received before, depending on staff and equipment available. It will take some time before services return to what you previously experienced as normal. Please be patient.

Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our surgery. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and staff safe.

Our practice follows infection control guidelines made by the governing bodies. We are up-to-date on new guidance that has been issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to recommendations.

You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example:

  • Our practice will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again at your appointment
  • We have a hand washing station that we will ask you to use when you enter the practice. You will also find some hand sanitiser in the reception area and other places in the practice for you to use as needed.
  • We no longer offer magazines, children’s toys and so forth, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect
  • Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.

We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.

How you can help:

  • With the exception of children and patients with carers, patients should come alone
  • A distance of at least 2 metres must be observed if another patient is present in the dental practice
  • Payment should be made by card where possible
  • Staff will not shake your hand
  • If you show symptoms following appointment booking, you should contact the practice by phone
  • Please do not arrive early to the practice. If necessary, you should wait outside the practice
  • Please do not arrive without an appointment
  • Patients should come wearing a mask if possible or be prepared to wear one.

Kind Regards

Purity team

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

Given the unprecedented situation in the UK regarding the COVID-19 virus I felt it was important to reassure all patients that we are continuing to keep our practice clean and safe for both you and our team.

You will appreciate that as a dental practice we work in an environment where the prevention of the spread of a whole range of infections is woven into everything that we do.

Nevertheless, we are paying particular attention to the latest government guidance on the transmission of coronavirus.

Know the guidance Before attending the practice for your next appointment

we would be grateful if you would review the most up to date government guidance – via this link https://www.gov.uk/government/topical-events/coronavirus-covid-19-uk-government-response

Please remember to call us on 01384 252387or email us on enquires@puritydental.co.uk to let us know if you wish to reschedule any of your booked appointments.

We would be happy to schedule an alternative date for you.

At your next appointment Please use the hand sanitiser just inside the main doorway on the left on entering and leaving the building.

Please also use the hand sanitiser provided in each surgery when you have completed your treatment.

Forgive us if we don’t shake hands – but we are however happy to do the elbow bump – just ask! You’ll notice that we’ve removed some non-essential items in the reception. They will return once this is all over!

As a team, we are doing everything we possibly can to remain fit, well and able to work so that we can continue to provide our usual high standard of dental care for you.

Thank you for your support in keeping everyone safe.

With best wishes,

The Dental Team

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

Given the unprecedented situation in the UK regarding the COVID-19 virus we are now operating a:

Emergency Only Service to patients who are showing NO SIGNS of COVID-19

SYMPTOMS OF COVID-19:

  • high temperature– this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
  • a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)

If you are showing any signs of COVID-19 Do Not Come To The Surgery.

Our priority is urgent care to our patients while protecting the safety of our staff.

By providing an emergency service we are actively helping our NHS colleagues by keeping dental patients away from NHS 111, GP Practices and Hospitals whose priority is now COVID-19.

EMERGENCY APPOINTMENTS ARE:

FACIAL SWELLING

PAIN THAT IS KEEPING YOU AWAKE AT NIGHT

PAIN AFFECTING YOUR ABILITY TO FUNCTION

As a team, we are doing everything we possibly can to remain fit, well, and able to work so that we can continue to provide this service. We do however have a limited amount of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Thank you for your support in keeping everyone safe.
